Build a custom dashboard

Pin your reports onto a custom dashboard so your team sees the metrics that matter, live and in one place.

A custom dashboard is a grid of tiles, each one a report running live, so your team opens one page and sees the numbers they care about side by side.

A report is great for answering one question at a time, but on its own it lives on its own page. Buron's built-in dashboards cover the basics, but they're fixed. A custom dashboard lets you keep the reports your team checks every week in one named place, instead of rebuilding them each time.

Before you begin

  • At least one connected source, so there's data to query. Google Ads works, and so does the warehouse fed by the pixel or your CRM.
  • One or more reports help, but aren't required. You can start an empty dashboard and build a report inline from a dataset. To build a report, open Datasets, pick a dataset, build your chart, click Save, and name it. It then lives in Reports. Saving captures the whole query: its dimensions, measures, filters, date range, account scope, sort, limit, and chart.
  • You're signed in to a team. Dashboards and reports are team-scoped: every member of your team sees them, and you never see another team's.

Step 1: Create a dashboard

Open Dashboards. In the sidebar it sits under the Analytics group, next to Datasets and Reports. Click New dashboard in the top right. Buron creates an empty dashboard named "Untitled dashboard" and opens it in edit mode.

Step 2: Add tiles

Click Add tile (the dashed cell, or the Add tile button under the empty state's "Add your first tile" heading). A drawer titled Add tile opens with a Reports section. Pick one to drop it on as a tile.

There's also a Build a new report section that lists your datasets, each one tagged "Build in Datasets, then save to add it here". Choosing one opens the dataset. When you save there, the button reads Save & add to dashboard, and you land back on the dashboard with the new tile in place.

Step 3: Size and remove tiles

Each tile has a menu (the ... icon) while you're editing. Open it to pick a size, Small, Medium, Large, or Full width, or to choose Remove tile. A report-backed tile also offers Open as query, which jumps you to it in the builder.

Step 4: Name and describe

While editing, click the title to rename it (the placeholder reads "Untitled dashboard") and add a description (placeholder "Add a description…"). Changes save automatically, and a "Saving…" hint shows briefly while they do. When you're finished, click the ... options menu in the top header and choose Done editing.

What's on a dashboard

  • Each tile runs its report live and renders the same chart you saw in the dataset.
  • A shared date range picker sits at the top. Change it and every tile re-runs at once. It defaults to the last 28 days. A warehouse-backed tile that carries its own fixed window shows an "Own date window" subtitle instead.
  • Built-in Buron dashboards (Overview, Channel Type, and Geographic) sit in the same library, marked Created by "Buron". Your team's dashboards show Created by "Team".
  • Removing a tile or deleting a dashboard never deletes the underlying report.

Where to find your dashboards

  • Dashboards is the library: a searchable table with columns for Dashboard, Created by, and Last used, a Filter dropdown (the groups are Paid performance, Acquisition, Creative & delivery, and Measurement), and a Favorites panel. Star any dashboard to pin it there. When the panel is empty it reads "Star a dashboard to pin it here".
  • The Buron agent can cite and run your reports and dashboards too, since they live in the same store the agent reads.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit Buron's built-in dashboards? No. Built-ins like Overview, Channel Type, and Geographic are Buron-built and read-only, so they have no edit, resize, or remove controls. To get something similar, build your own from reports.

Who can see a dashboard I make? Everyone on your team. Dashboards and reports are team-scoped, so you never see another team's, and they never see yours.

What happens to my report if I remove its tile or delete the dashboard? Nothing. The report stays. Deleting a dashboard removes only the dashboard and its tile layout: the reports themselves aren't deleted.

Do I have to build a report first? No. You can create an empty dashboard and, from the Add tile drawer, build a new report from a dataset. Saving it there adds it to the dashboard automatically.

How do I change the time range for the whole dashboard? Use the date range picker at the top. It re-runs every tile at once and defaults to the last 28 days.

Can I resize tiles? Yes, in edit mode. Each tile's menu offers Small, Medium, Large, or Full width, and you can remove tiles. Changes save as you go.
