Reply to Buron by email

Reply to any email Buron sends, and the workspace agent answers your question right in the same thread.

Every email Buron sends comes from a repliable address. Reply to one with a question, and the workspace agent picks it up, scoped to your team, and answers back in the same thread.

A normal report email is a dead end. You read the number, then you switch tabs to dig into why. The email reply loop closes that gap: you ask "why did cost-per-lead jump on Brand last week?" by hitting reply, and the agent pulls the numbers and answers in the thread you're already reading. No new tool, no login, no copy-paste.

Email is members-only: only active team members can message the agent, matched by their email to a Buron member. Non-members and service accounts can't. If someone outside the team needs in, there's a request-access flow that ends in an in-app approval.

Before you begin

You'll need:

  • A Buron workspace with a team slug set. The slug is what makes your reply address resolve.
  • To be an active member of the workspace whose email you're replying to. Email is members-only.

There's nothing to install or authorize. Unlike Slack or WhatsApp, email has no connect button and no OAuth step. It's on as soon as your team has a slug, and every Buron email already comes from your team's agent address.

No slug yet? The Email settings page tells you so, in amber: "Your team needs a slug before the email channel is active." Set one in your workspace settings, and the reply address turns on.

Step 1: Find your reply address

Open Settings → Email. Under Your agent reply address you'll see the address every Buron email is sent from. It looks like this:

acme.ab12cd34ef5@agents.buron.ai

The first part is your team slug. The second part is a short signature that ties the address to your workspace. Click to copy it if you want, but you don't have to memorize it. Every email Buron sends already comes from this address, so a reply just works.

Step 2: Reply like you would to anyone

In your normal mail client, hit reply on any email from Buron and ask your question in plain language:

Why did cost-per-lead jump on Brand last week?

Send it. Buron figures out which workspace the reply belongs to from the verified reply address, checks that you're an active member, then wakes the agent for your team. The agent runs out of band and replies into the same email thread, so it stays one conversation. Only active members get an answer: match is by your email to a Buron member, so a forward to a non-member or a service account won't wake the agent.

For email there's no read receipt or reaction to tell you it landed. The threaded reply itself is the acknowledgement. When the answer arrives in the thread, you know it worked.

Step 3: Keep the conversation going

Reply again in the same thread and the agent remembers what you already asked. Each thread keeps its context, so a follow-up like "and how does that compare to Search?" builds on the first answer instead of starting over.

What the agent can do on a reply

Over email the agent is read-only. It's there to answer questions and pull numbers, not to change anything. On a reply it can:

  • Run read-only Google Ads queries and list your accounts
  • Run and list your dashboards and reports
  • Read your files and report templates
  • Read your skills

It can't send, write, change settings, connect anything, or run campaigns from an email reply. There's no send tool in the loop. Buron handles delivering the reply back into your thread, so the agent can't email anywhere else. That makes email replies safe for "ask questions and pull numbers", and off-limits for changing how things run.

What Buron sends you by email

Buron emails you scheduled performance reports and automated digests. Charts come embedded right inside the message, not as a link out, so the chart you see is part of the email itself.

Automated mail includes an unsubscribe link and a postal address, so it stays compliant. The Automated email updates toggle on the Email settings page controls whether you get these. Turning it off stops the scheduled reports and digests. It does not affect replies to a thread you started.

Where to see it

  • Settings → Integrations, where Email shows under your messaging apps, with a Connected status once your team has a slug.
  • Settings → Email, for your agent reply address, the connection status, and the Automated email updates toggle.
  • Datasets and Reports, the same data the agent reads when it answers you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect anything? No. Email works as soon as your team has a slug. There's no OAuth or connect button, and every Buron email already comes from your team's repliable agent address.

Who can reply and get an answer? Only active members of that workspace. Buron re-checks membership on every reply, so a forward to someone outside the team won't get an answer.

What can the agent do over email? It's read-only. It can pull your Google Ads numbers, run your dashboards and reports, and read your files to answer. It can't change settings, send things, or run campaigns from an email reply.

Will it remember earlier replies in the thread? Yes. Each thread keeps its context, so a follow-up reply builds on what you already asked.

How do I stop the scheduled emails? Turn off Automated email updates in Settings → Email. That stops scheduled reports and digests. It doesn't affect replies to a thread you started.

Is the reply address safe to share? It's fine if it leaks. The signature in the address only routes mail into your workspace, and a tampered address is rejected on the way in. It isn't a secret, it's a check.
