Automations

Build your own automation

Create a custom automation in Buron. Pick a type, set the trigger, choose the scope, and configure notifications.

Custom automations let you set up your own recurring or reactive playbooks. You can build everything from a weekly client digest to a webhook-triggered workflow.

Start a new automation

In your workspace, open the Automations tab and click New automation. Buron walks you through 4 setup steps.

1. Pick a type

Choose what kind of automation you're building.

  • Health check. Runs on a schedule, reports pass, warn, or fail, and triggers alerts when something fails.
  • Optimizer. Agent-driven. Runs on a schedule, generates findings with recommendations, and emails you when complete.
  • Report. Compiles data into a narrative or table. Useful for recurring digests.
  • Alert. Watches a metric or condition. Fires when something crosses a threshold.
  • Webhook trigger. Fires when an external system sends a webhook. Useful for integrations with Slack, your CRM, or your own services.

2. Set the trigger

For scheduled types, configure when the automation runs:

  • Cron schedule. Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom cron expression.
  • Time zone. The schedule runs in your team's time zone by default.
  • Day or time exclusions. Skip weekends or non-business hours where it makes sense.

For webhook triggers, copy the webhook URL Buron generates. Paste it into the tool you want to fire from.

3. Choose the scope

Tell the automation what to work on.

  • Account. A specific Google Ads account, or all of them.
  • Campaigns. All campaigns, or a filtered subset.
  • Channel. Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, or any subset.

The scope keeps the automation focused. An automation that only watches your branded campaigns won't fire on non-branded issues.

4. Configure notifications

Decide who hears about each run.

  • Email. Send to a list of recipients when the automation runs.
  • Slack. Post to a channel via a Slack webhook URL.
  • Custom webhook. Send the run output to your own endpoint.

You can leave notifications off if the automation only writes findings or reports to Buron.

Save and test

Click Save. The automation appears in your list, ready for its next run.

To test it before the first scheduled run, click Run now on the automation's row. The run uses the configuration you just saved.

Ask the Agent to build it

You can also build automations by talking to the Agent in chat. Tell the Agent what you want, like "set up a weekly digest of our top campaigns and email it to me Mondays at 9 am," and it'll create the automation for you. You confirm before it goes live.
