Track credits and AI usage

See your credit balance, watch AI usage in real time, and top up so your agents never stop.

Every chat with a Buron agent spends credit. The Usage page shows what you have, what you've used, and where it went, so you're never surprised by an agent that stops mid-task.

Your agents run on credit. Without a clear view of the balance, you find out you've run dry only when work stops. Usage closes that gap: it tracks your plan allowance, your purchased credit, and a per-chat history of what consumed what, all metered in near-real-time by Stripe. Turn on auto-top-up and the balance refills itself before it ever hits zero.

Before you begin

You'll need:

  • A Buron workspace (a free trial is fine). Credit and plans are tied to your active team, so that's what gets billed.
  • An AI plan, or the welcome credit, to run agents. If you don't have one yet, the Usage page links you to Choose an AI plan.
  • A payment method on file to purchase credit or subscribe. You add this on Billing, through the secure Stripe portal. New creators can claim the welcome credit with no card.

Everything here lives in the account menu at the bottom-left of the sidebar: click your avatar, then Usage or Billing.

Step 1: Check your balance and plan

Open Usage. The top section, Plan usage limits, shows your AI plan and how much of this period's allowance is left.

  • If you're on a plan, you'll see its name and the date it resets.
  • The License usage bar drains as you go and shows how much of your allowance is left.
  • A Pay-as-you-go credit bar shows up too, once you've bought extra credit.
  • No plan yet? You'll see "No AI plan for this team yet. Add one to start using agents." and a Choose an AI plan button that takes you to Billing.

Step 2: Claim your welcome credit

New creator accounts get a one-time trial credit. In the Welcome credit section, click Claim welcome credit. The section then shows a Welcome credit bar with the date it expires, so you can watch it drain as you try things out. No card needed.

The welcome credit is one per creator account, not per team. Once it's claimed and used up, the section disappears.

Step 3: Buy credit or turn on auto-top-up

The Available credit section is where you manage purchased credit. It shows how much you have available of what you've purchased, and the percent remaining, on a bar that drains as you use it.

To buy credit once, enter an amount in the One-off top-up field, then click Purchase.

To keep your agents running without thinking about it, flip on the Auto-top-up switch. Then click Adjust to set three values:

  • Top-up amount: how much credit to add each time.
  • Reload threshold: the balance that triggers a top-up.
  • Monthly cap: the most Buron will spend topping up in a month. This is your spend guardrail.

Click Save. With it on, the page confirms it will top up automatically when your balance runs low, up to your monthly cap.

If you haven't added a payment method yet, this section says "Add a payment method on billing to top up." Set one up on Billing first.

Step 4: Review what used your credit

The Recent usage section breaks down consumption per chat. Each row shows Last used, Models, Generations, and the Input, Output, and Total token counts. The footer tells you how many chats you're seeing, with Newer and Older buttons to page through them.

If you haven't run anything yet, you'll see "No usage yet. Activity will appear here after your first chat."

What Buron tracks

On the Usage page, for your active team:

  • License usage: the AI allowance included with your plan, which resets each billing period.
  • Welcome credit: a one-time trial credit that expires after you claim it, one per creator account.
  • Pay-as-you-go credit: purchased credit, with the percent remaining.
  • Per-chat history: the models used, generation count, input, output, and total tokens, and when each chat was last active.

All of the metering and credit math is handled by Stripe in near-real-time. The page reads each grant's balance straight from Stripe, so the numbers reflect what you've actually used.

Where to see it

  • Usage: credit balance, plan usage limits, welcome credit, auto-top-up, and your per-chat usage history.
  • Billing: plans, payment method, and invoices. The Manage buttons open the Stripe portal.

Frequently asked questions

What uses up my credit? AI and agent activity. Every chat with an agent spends credit based on the models and tokens it uses, and the Recent usage table breaks it down per chat.

What's the difference between license usage and pay-as-you-go credit? License usage is the allowance included with your AI plan, and it resets every billing period. Pay-as-you-go credit is extra credit you buy, or that auto-top-up adds for you. It doesn't expire with the period.

How do I make sure my agents don't stop when credit runs low? Turn on auto-top-up on the Usage page. Set a top-up amount, a reload threshold, and a monthly cap, and Buron buys more credit automatically when your balance gets low, up to the cap.

Is the welcome credit really free? Yes. New creator accounts get free credit to try Buron, with no card required. It expires after you claim it, and it's one per creator account.

Where do I change my plan, card, or download invoices? On the Billing page. The Manage button opens the secure Stripe portal, where you can update your card, switch or cancel plans, and view or download invoices.

Are the numbers exact, and when do they update? Totals and credit are calculated by Stripe and update in near-real-time as you use agents. There's a short cache that gets cleared on every purchase or top-up, so balances stay current.

Next steps

  • Read the Agent overview, since your credit is spent by agents doing work.
  • Set up automations to let agents run on a schedule. These spend agent credit too, so keep an eye on your balance or turn on auto-top-up.
